FEBRUARY BOOSTER MINUTES
Attendance: Lisa Cray, Ed Hockenbury,
Betsy Hoehl, Nancy Sheldon McSoley,
Sandy Sherman, Betsy Weischedel
Ed asked for funding for 8
athletes to attend the athletic leadership workshop at the Sheraton on March
11.
Will we be funding
athletes to winter New Englands.
Did we approve Sheila Stawinski for the full year of captains’ training? Yes, in September we approved $4,500 for the
full year.
Bruce Brown will be
presenting at the athletic leadership workshop and the Positive Youth Sports
Alliance of Essex is sponsoring him to present a workshop to local parents and
coaches from 6 to 8 in the EHS cafeteria and auditorium. It is appropriate for parents and coaches of
youth through varsity level. Try to get
the word out to parents.
The summer Hershey track
meet is 7/ll. We need to find someone to
do the concession stand.
Spring concessions will
include 4 lacrosse games, 5 track meets, and middle school track meets.
At Christmas time, Lisa
donated t-shirts, flip-flops for 5 or 6 kids for families who were in need.
The Sports Management
class is looking for projects if anyone has any ideas for them.
Athletic Dept. would like
to purchase two basic spinning bikes for athlete rehab. They would be stored in the outdoor huts in
the spring so that athletes can use them on the sidelines if they are unable to
play and are in rehab. Will boosters pay
for one? Approx. $399
each.
Probable playoff schedule
and concession needs discussed.
Rescheduling of concessions due to cancelled games has been a nightmare.
The spring coaches meeting is Wednesday, March 4.
